Digital Gas Awarded Contract to Develop a Solar Power-Monitoring Kiosk
Digital Gas Inc. (Dallas, TX) recently announced that Kommerce Systems Inc. (Boston, MA) has been awarded the contract to develop and implement a "Solar Power Monitoring Kiosk" by Gravestar Inc. (Cambridge, MA). Digital Gas recently acquired 50 percent of Kommerce.
This kiosk is part of Gravestar's reconstruction of the Porter Square Shopping Center in Cambridge, which has a strong focus on the use of environmentally friendly materials, construction techniques, as well as the use of renewable energies. This shopping center project features a 20kW solar power array on the rooftop. According to Digital Gas, this solar power array will power much of the site's common electrical needs during peak-demand daylight hours.
Kommerce's kiosk will be positioned at the center of the shopping center's common area and will continuously display the current and historical status of the solar power array for viewers in the area. The kiosk will also offer viewers access, via touch screen, to many solar power and other renewable energy and environmental topics.
