Sunny Portal from SMA Solar Technology AG reached a milestone achievement of 100 terawatt hours (TWh) of solar energy monitoring on Earth Day. This achievement, which affirms Sunny Portal’s status as a leading Web-based PV monitoring platform, is the equivalent of avoiding more than 70 million tons of carbon dioxide from entering Earth’s atmosphere. Sunny Portal provides free system monitoring for photovoltaic plants throughout the world and currently supports more than 150,000 systems. It allows system owners to access PV system data anytime and anywhere via the Internet or Sunny Portal application for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android phones.
"Reaching 100 TWh of energy in Sunny Portal is a fitting reminder of the important role solar power plays in ensuring our planet's health on Earth Day," said Henry Dziuba, president and general manager of SMA America and president of SMA Canada. "We're proud to help deliver clean, solar energy to homes and businesses as consumers turn to renewable energy to power their lives."
Automatic product updates ensure that the device firmware is always up to date, while any operation irregularities or interferences are quickly detected, and an email notification is sent through the Sunny Portal. Whether for a small home system or a large solar park, centralized administration and system monitoring saves time and money. Through the Sunny Portal, plant operators, installers and service technicians have access to key data at any time, from any location.
Pre-configured standard pages can be easily customized with individual information. The Sunny Portal features almost infinite options for analyzing data and visualizing yields, whether you need a data table or a highly personalized diagram. In larger systems, the yields of all inverters in the plant are compared automatically, allowing for the detection of even the smallest deviations. The powerful reporting functions also provide regular updates via e-mail to help ensure yields.
