Schneider Electric now offers an all-in-one Prosumer Solution that will automatically store the energy produced by photovoltaic arrays, and optimize when and how it is used. The Prosumer Solution uses Saft Li-ion batteries for energy storage. This helps to increase self-consumption up to 100% and reduce dependence on grid pricing and availability. The Prosumer Solution will track variable energy pricing and weather conditions while predicting how much energy a building will need, including for charging electric vehicle. It will then help users decide the best ways to reduce energy bills, such as using stored green energy when prices are highest on the grid.
The energy storage system will act as a backup power supply, automatically keeping critical equipment running during a blackout. When grid power returns, the system will immediately switch back to recharging from the solar panels. A laptop, tablet, or smartphone can be used to view building energy performance and savings potential in real-time with Schneiders cloud-based energy management services.
The Saft energy storage system features: better than 95% energy efficiency; very low self-discharge rate (5% per month); 20 years design lifetime; sophisticated battery management system with monitoring, control, alarms, cells balancing, data logging, and optional diagnostic interface; advanced industrial design and stringent qualification processes ensuring the highest safety and robustness; low maintenance requirements, with safe handling of battery modules due to low voltage modules (24V); 100% of each battery is recyclable, following European Battery Directive (2006/66/EC); and the system is completely CO2 emissions free over the entire life cycle.
In combination with the energy storage system users can choose from a broad package of complementary, subscription-based services from Schneider Electric including: StruxureWare Energy Operation A powerful portal to all of the physical and financial aspects of energy consumption, production, cost savings, and CO2 reductions. Asset management Equipment monitoring, reporting, maintenance scheduling, and supervision of building energy status. Demand response management The system will help users choose the most remunerative demand response programs to participate in, and ensure they leverage the most flexibility from their energy storage and loads.
