MGE UPS Systems Intros UPG Web-Pac Software Suite

December 03, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) introduced its new UPS Web-Pac power management software, which, when used in conjunction with MGE’s new XML-Web cards or XML-@gent, provides comprehensive and secure management of network attached UPS systems from anywhere on the network.

Using a standard web browser, remote users have a graphical view of real-time UPS operating characteristics, monitoring up to 250 servers, and administrators can use browsers to receive power alarms and set up automatic actions. During extended power outages, the Web-Pac can securely launch an automatic shutdown of PCs and servers in a heterogeneous environment, assuring a safe and orderly shutdown of systems. An automatic re-boot of systems can also be scheduled upon power restoration.

The UPS Web-Pac can be downloaded free of charge from MGE's website at http://www.mgeups.com/products/pdt120/software/xml.htm. MGE’s XML Web-Card is available as an accessory and is priced at $364.
