Jaro Components Unveils New ACHZ688M10KT and ACHZ337M100KT Capacitors

December 18, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Jaro Components Inc. (Boca Raton, FL) unveiled the ACHZ Series of capacitors that it claims combines super-high capacitance/voltage (CV), low impedance, low inductance and long life in one surface-mount package.

The company claims that its engineers were able to place a high-CV capacitor inside a surface-mount package through a process that utilized four solder terminals. Two dummy terminals and two working ones were designed to give the ACHZ Series extra solder strength so that it could adhere to the top of printed-circuit boards.

Jaro Components maintains that the ACHZ Series is suited for power supplies, battery chargers, personal computers and all other power applications. It offers 5,000 hours of performance. Case sizes range from 12.5mm x 16.5mm, with an operating temperature between -40 to 105 degrees C. The available voltages range from 6.3Vdc to 100Vdc, with a nominal capacitance range of 47 to 8,000 mirofarads. The capacitance tolerance is ±20 percent.

Pricing for the ACHZ688M10KT and ACHZ337M100KT is $0.83 in 10,000-unit quantities with delivery in 14 to 16 weeks.
