Galaxy Power Debuts Pisces II Series CoolConverters

Galaxy Power Inc. (Westborough, MA) introduced its new second-generation Pisces II Series of dc/dc CoolConverters™, which offer 60A and a 2.5V output with 91.5 percent efficiency at full load and 94 percent at half load in a standard quarter-brick dc/dc converter.

The Pisces II features an input voltage of 48Vdc; outputs of 60A at 2.5V/2.0V/1.8V/1.5V, 50A at 3.3V, 30A at 5.0V, or 20A at 7.0V; a low profile of 0.375in; an open-frame, quarter-brick with industry-standard pinout; and new circuit techniques, patented microprocessor controlled circuitry, advanced magnetics design and patented advanced thermal design.

The Pisces II is offered with Galaxy Power’s three standard packaging configurations: open-frame for low cost and low profile, heatsink-ready for full compatibility with metal baseplate technology designs, and heatsink-attached for applications that require thermal performance over wide ambient temperatures.
