AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) has recently expanded its feedthru capacitor line with the introduction of a 1206 array, providing reduced component count and PC board space savings. The feedthru array, designated the W3F4 Series, contains four elements with dual common ground connection. The array was designed to provide noise reduction in digital circuits to <5GHz. The first two packages in the standard EIA 0805 and 1206 sizes are designated the W2F and W3F Series, respectively. A number of capacitance values are available in NP0 and X7R ceramic dielectrics. Array applications include a range of electronic products such as transceivers, cellular phones, laptop computers and set-top boxes, as well as high di/dt environments. Pricing for the four-element Feedthru Capacitor Array ranges from $0.33 to $0.38 each in quantities of 100,000 with lead times from stock to eight weeks ARO. They are available in 8mm Tape and Reel packaging and are compatible with high speed placement equipment.
