September 13, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Eagle-Picher Technologies LLC (EPT, Joplin, MO) has announced the name of its new subsidiary in British Columbia as Eagle-Picher Energy Products Corp. (EPC). The subsidiary, formerly known as BlueStar Battery Systems Corp. (BBSC), was acquired by EPT on June 30, 2000, and was an amalgamation of BlueStar Advanced Technology Corporation and BlueStar Systems Corporation.

Rex Erisman, EPT executive vice president, stated, "The acquisition of BBSC allows EPT to round out our lithium battery product line to include commercially available primary cells and batteries." The new subsidiary will also be the center for EPT's efforts in the development of systems such as the secondary lithium-ion and flat battery pack technology.
