Calex Announces Triple Output Linear Power Supply

May 04, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Calex Manufacturing Co., Inc. announced the availability of the 3.15.1000 and 3.12.1000 linear power supply. According to the company, the 3.15.1000 and 3.12.1000 offer exceptionally low noise outputs of +5V and +/-15V or +/-12V making the power supplies well suited for powering sensitive analog circuitry.

The 3.15.1000 provides 1A on the 5V output and +/-100mA on the +/-15V output. The 3.12.1000 provides 1A on the 5V output and +/-125mA on the +/-12V output. For existing designs, both models employ industry standard pin configurations providing the system designer with an alternative drop-in solution.

The 3.15.1000 and 3.12.1000 are available with 100, 115, 220, 230 or 240VAC input options. Input frequency is 50-60Hz. Both models provide short circuit protection through foldback current limiting so either unit can be shorted indefinitely with no damage. The voltage accuracy of both models is +/-1.0%. Line and load regulation is +/-0.20%. Output noise and ripple is 2mV RMS. Input to output isolation is 1200VRMS. The temperature coefficient is +/-0.01%/C.

The operating temperature range of the 3.15.1000 and 3.12.1000 is -25 to +50C. The storage range is -25 to +85°C. Each unit is fully encapsulated in a plastic case for rugged durability. Both models measure 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.56" and are designed for pcb mounting. If screw terminal connections are desired, convenient mounting kits are available for each model that allows backplane mounting.

Units are available from stock to six weeks.
