AstroPower Announces Staff Expansion

AstroPower Inc. (Newark, DE) announced that it is expanding its marketing staff. The company recently completed a pilot program, called SunChoice, offering fully-packaged power systems to homes and businesses receiving traditional electric service. SunChoice is a rooftop solar system which connects to the normal utility grid and includes everything a consumer needs to generate his or her own clean electricity as well as spin the utility meters backward. Dr. Allen M. Barnett, president and CEO, commented, "We've sold over 400 Sun-Choice rooftop systems to date, and we are now putting in place the people who will help us take this business to the next level." The people expected to do so are Robert Ruggio, Jorn Jurgens and Suzanne Wilson, all of whom were hired as new managers to expand AstroPower's marketing and sales team with their expertise.
