Advanced Power Technology Introduces New 264 MAX Packaged MOSFETs

August 07, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Power Technology (APT, Bend, OR) announced the introduction of the 264 MAX packaged MOSFETs. The 264 MAX package is designed for clip-mounting, and has the same footprint as a TO-264 package, but with no mounting hole, allowing the package to accept 25 percent larger die than previously available in the standard TO-264 package. The 264 MAX package offers low Rds(on) and high power-handling capability that was previously only available in the Isotop (SOT-227) package. The 264 MAX devices are available with a breakdown voltage from 500V to 1,200V, Rds(on) from 60 milliohms to 450 milliohms, and current rating from 27A to 77A. All devices offered in the 264 MAX package are manufactured using Power MOS V technology.

Applications for these devices include PFC preregulators, dc/dc converters, inverters, switch-mode power supplies, battery chargers, motor drives, and welders.

Evaluation samples of 500V devices are available from stock and 1,000-piece pricing ranges from $25.99 to $26.80.
