Absopulse Debuts RWY150 DC-DC Converter

August 08, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) debuted its RWY150 high-density, conduction-cooled, dc-dc converter, which provides a complete 150 W power solution in a compact 2.3 in x 6 in x 1.5 in enclosure, and weighs 1.8 lbs (0.8 kg). The RWY150 delivers regulated dc outputs of 24 Vdc at 6.25 A from 72 Vdc (45 V to 90 Vdc range) and 110 Vdc (67 Vdc to 138 Vdc) inputs. Customized input and output voltages are also available.

The RWY150 is encapsulated within a thermally conductive MIL-specification silicon rubber compound that allows for operation within a -40 °C to +70 °C temperature range, and provides resistance against shock, vibration, humidity, moisture, dust and insects. EMI performance exceeds the requirements for EN55022 Class B by a wide margin. The characteristics contribute to making the RWY150 suitable for operation in airborne, military, marine, mining and other heavy-duty applications. The unit also complies with the requirements of EN50155 (IEC571) for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock.

The RWY150 is priced at $253 for quantities of one to four.
