Tecate Group announced the addition of the 3V TPLH™ series of ultracapacitors to its already extensive offerings. The 3V TPLH™ series offers a low-ESR solution for high-power applications with cell values ranging from 100F to 450F. The TPLH™ series of ultracapacitors are UL recognized and RoHS and REACH compliant, with a market-standard snap-in connector style.
The TPLH™ cells are designed for use in robotics, material handling, military, wind-power pitch control, medical device, and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) applications. These cells provide peak-power shaving, emergency power, and primary power replacement for the previously mentioned applications and many others.
The 3V cells in particular help increase stored energy capacity and power by over 20 percent in the same-size can as other, lower-voltage ultracapacitor cells.
Working either in conjunction with or as stand-alone alternative to batteries, ultracapacitors help reduce maintenance requirements and can provide a longer life and cost-effective energy storage for applications that require extremely reliable backup power, pulse power, or voltage control.
Tecate’s TPLH™ 3V ultracapacitor cells operate at a temperature range of -40°C to +65°C (with expanded operating temperature to +85°C with voltage derating to 2.5V), industry-accepted capacitance tolerances with a projected cycle life of 500,000 and a load life performance of 10 years.
