ZAP Presents New ZETA III Bicycle Motor Kit

October 08, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

ZAP (Sebastopol, CA) introduced its new ZETA III bicycle motor kit that provides a boost of electric power for road and mountain bicycles. The ZETA III can power a bicycle at up to 10mph, and no tools are needed to install the 10lb unit over the front wheel of a bicycle with mounting hardware attaching it to the handlebars and axle. The ZETA III unit includes everything to fit bicycles with tire sizes of 24in to 28in.

Inside the ZETA III, a rechargeable battery provides up to 50 minutes of continual power under testing, which allows users to ride for several miles relative to weight, terrain and pedal-power. The battery also feeds a built-in headlight for night-time safety. A charger is included that will recharge the battery overnight. For security, a special feature allows a lock to pass through the ZETA III. The unit is weatherproof from rain and all sorts of terrain.

The new ZETA III bicycle motor kit is now available and is priced at $179.99.
