XPiQ Debuts ECM Series AC-DC Power Supplies

March 25, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, announced its new ECM Series of single-output, ac-dc, 40 W to 60 W, power supplies, which feature a small footprint. Measuring 2 in x 4 in x 1.2 in (50.8 mm x 101.6 mm x 30.48 mm), the power supplies meet EN55022 Level B EMI/EMC specifications with maximum leakage currents of 100 µA at 115 Vac or 200 µA at 230 Vac. The switchers are suitable for industrial, IT and medical applications.

The ECM40-60 Series have outputs from 5 V to 48 Vdc, adjustable by ±10 percent, and universal ac inputs. They are approved to both UL60950 and UL60601-1 and are dual-fused for compliance with EN60601-1. Efficiency is 80 percent to 85 percent, depending upon the model, so minimal excess heat is generated.

The power supplies deliver full power between -10 °C and +50 °C, and will operate at up to +80 °C with de-rating and only 5 CFM of cooling. Comprehensive over-voltage, overload and short-circuit protection is built in. Pricing for quantities of 1,000 pieces is $26.50 for the ECM40 and $30.25 for the ECM60.
