XPiQ Debuts ACS40/ACS60 Series AC/DC Supplies

October 06, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA) announced two new lines of low-cost, low-power, high-density ac/dc power supplies, the ACS40 and ACS60 Series, which are suitable for a wide variety of applications, including network, telecom, POS and computer peripherals where a small footprint, low 1U profile and high density are required. The power supplies provide either 40W or 60W in a compact, industry-standard package that measures 2in x 4in x 1.2in and offer power densities of up to 6.28W/in³. Full power is available to 50 degrees C, and the supplies will operate at up to 70 degrees C with derating.

Nine models with single outputs are available in both the ACS40 and ACS60 Series. True universal input accepts input voltages of 90Vac to 264Vac (47Hz to 63Hz). Standard output-voltage selections include 3.3Vdc, 5Vdc, 9Vdc, 12Vdc, 15Vdc, 24Vdc, 30Vdc, 36Vdc and 48Vdc with modified output voltages available. The supplies offer zero minimum load, efficiency up to 88 percent, low output ripple, tight line and load regulation, and short-circuit protection. Input-to-output isolation is greater than 3,000Vac for safety agency requirements. The supplies have worldwide safety agency approvals from UL, cUL and TUV; conducted EMI limits per EN55022; FCC Level B; and CE approval.

Pricing is $22 for the ACS40 Series and $24 for the ACS60 Series in 1,000-piece quantities. Prototype quantities are available from stock and standard production lead time is eight weeks.
