Würth Elektronik ICS Exhibiting Interconnect Products at PCIM Europe

May 01, 2019 by Scott McMahan

Würth Elektronik ICS will exhibit its latest products and technologies at PCIM Europe May 7-9 in Nuremburg, Germany. PCIM attendees can visit with company representatives at Hall 6, Booth 206 of the Nuremberg Convention center.

The company's trade fair product launches will include its first plug-in SMT-mountable Powerelement, PowerBasket SMD (see image above), and the company will also reveal its revamped online shop for Powerelements that boasts a new responsive design and user-friendly features.

The Würth Elektronik ICS booth is also a station on the guided tour for e-mobility at the trade fair.

The company will present its first-ever pluggable Powerelements for SMT assembly in its Powerelements range, PowerBasket SMD. The new products will complement existing PowerBasket High-Current Contacts, which are available in THT and press-fit versions.

Products in the PowerBasket SMD series are lead-free and RoHS-compliant. They can be processed on conventional SMT lines and soldered using a convection or vapor phase systems. PowerBasket SMD Powerelements are repeatedly pluggable. Compared to conventional systems, the design of the contact lamellas significantly reduces plug-in and extraction forces.

Use of multiple contacts at once is possible when combined with a position tolerance of up to 0.6mm. They are particularly suitable for use as board-to-board connectors. A special alloy in the products also allows their use in high ambient temperatures.

The company will also present its new optimized online shop in time for PCIM. At the online shop, customers will be able to discover the largest range of Wuerth Electronik Powerelements on the market. The new online shop has a simplified user interface, and features an intuitive product search, live chat for better customer service, and offers the option for developers to order free samples.

Guided Tour on E-Mobility

As a supplier of components and system solutions that are suitable for use in high-current and high-voltage applications, Würth Elektronik ICS considers PCIM, with its focus on e-mobility, to be the ideal platform for showcasing its products and services. The Würth Elektronik ICS booth will be one station on the guided tour at the trade fair. Registered visitors will be presented solutions related to e-mobility in the morning and afternoon of each day of the trade fair.
