Wilmore Electronics Introduces Series 1675 Converters

March 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Wilmore Electronics Co. Inc. (Hillsborough, NC) recently introduced its new Series 1675 200W-output dc/dc converters. The new converters provide a regulated and filtered dc output at 12V, 24V or 48V. The converters, which have an ambient temperature range of -40 to 70 degrees C, are suitable for application in mobile and stationary devices. They can be used to power radio transceivers, telecommunications equipment and other electronic loads.

Features include line and load regulation of ±0.5 percent and ±1.0 percent, respectively. Output ripple is typically less than 10mV peak to peak. This output is galvanically isolated from the source and chassis and may be connected either as a positive or a negative output. The converters can handle an input voltage of 10Vdc to 16Vdc. They reach an efficiency of 80 percent at approximately 15 percent of full load, and remain above 80 percent (typically 83 to 87 percent) for the remainder of the load range. The no-load input current is less than 250 milliamperes.

Other features of the Series 1675 converters includes electronic protection against load short-circuits, with automatic recovery to normal operating conditions upon removal of the fault. Input-to-output isolation is 2kVdc. The devices measure 3.6" x 6.1" x 10.3", including mounting flanges and terminal block and weigh approximately four pounds. Units are priced at $302 each in 10-piece quantities.
