April 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

SatCon Technology Corp. (Cambridge, MA) announced that it has hired Michael Williams to serve as senior vice president and general manager of its rapidly growing Power Systems business unit. In addition to Williams, Colin Colvin and Todd Jackson will also join the company and serve on Williams' senior staff as vice president of operations and vice president of business development, respectively. Williams, Colvin and Jackson were previously employed in senior-level management positions within General Electric Industrial Systems.

“Jim O'Rourke has successfully led the Power Systems business unit through its early years and will continue to play an important role working with Mike, Charlie and Todd,” said David Eisenhaure, SatCon president and CEO. “Our goal is to grow at a 50-percent annual growth rate with attractive margins. A key to that growth lies in our Power Systems business unit and its UPS and power quality products. These are enormous growth markets. The addition of Mike, Todd and Charlie is consistent with our goal to grow SatCon's revenues to $15.0 million in the fourth quarter with breakeven earnings. We were fortunate to attract these senior people who have impressive experience and a strong reputation in the power systems marketplace.”
