VPT Inc. (Blacksburg, VA) introduced a new low-voltage output dc-dc converter for military and aerospace applications. The new 1.9 V output model of the DVHF Series is the first converter to provide a 1.9 V single-output while maintaining the full temperature range capability that is essential for use on newer aircraft, weapon, and other military and aerospace systems.
The 1.9 V model of the DVHF Series features up to 8 W of output power; a single 1.9 V output; low output noise; 15 V to 50 V input voltage, with a nominal of 28, per MIL-STD-704; fault-tolerant, magnetic feedback circuit; lack of optoisolators; under-voltage lockout circuitry, which eliminates slow startup problems; a low profile of 0.330 in and a light weight of 24 g to 27 g; a high input transient voltage tolerance of 80 V for 1 sec per MIL-STD-704A; precision projection welded hermetic package; a high power density; the ability to meet MIL-STD-461C and MIL-STD-461D EMC requirements when used with a DVMH28 EMI filter; MIL-PRF-38534 element evaluated components; and custom- and radiation-hardened versions.
