Vicor Introduces New Filter/Autoranging Rectifier Module

June 18, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Vicor Corp. (Andover, MA) recently introduced the Filter/Autoranging Rectifier Module (FARM), a component level, ac-input front end. The module provides EMI filtering, auto-ranging line rectification, transient protection and inrush current limiting. The FARM is available in either 500/750W or 750/1,000W models in a mini-sized package measuring 2.28" x 2.2" x 0.5".

The FARM interfaces directly with worldwide ac mains. It may be used with Vicor's first- or second-generation 300V input dc/dc converters to realize an autoranging, high-density, low-profile switching power supply. Single-price pieces start at $69 for the FARM1C21 at 500/750W, and $89 for the FARM2C21 at 750/1,000W.
