Unipower Releases 1U PowerCassette Rack, the TPCHR1U2

May 09, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Unipower Corp. (Coral Springs, FL) announced a U-high PowerCassette rack that measures 19" and holds two of the new PowerCassette switching power supplies. With the two units in a 1+1 redundant, hot-swap configuration, the system produces up to 600W dc with up to six outputs. The PowerCassette's outputs are programmed at the factory to meet a customer's requirements. The two PowerCassettes and rack can also be operated in the non-redundant mode, producing up to 1,200W with up to six outputs. The rack model number is TPCHR1U2.

The rack has a number of flexible options including front or back ac power entry, using either IEC320 inputs with switches or terminal block inputs. Either single or dual inputs may be chosen. Another option is a clear plastic safety cover on the rear of the unit. The PowerCassette hot-swap power modules are secured in place by means of a front-panel jackscrew on each one.

All power outputs, control and monitoring inputs and outputs are located in the back of the rack for fast connection to any system. The V1 and V2 high-power outputs are made to copper bus bars. Other outputs and the control and monitoring signals are available on two D-type connectors.

The two-position PowerCassette racks are priced as low as $340 each in OEM quantities. A complete power system with two six-output 600W PowerCassette supplies is priced as low as $1,040 in OEM quantities. Delivery is stock to four weeks in small quantities.
