UNIPOWER Presents INV2500-HS Telecom Inverter

December 11, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

UNIPOWER Telecom (Coral Springs, FL), a division of UNIPOWER Corp., introduced its new INV2500-HS telecom inverter, which is a hot-swap inverter producing 115Vac at 22Arms to give 2,500VA of output. The unit has a 3.5in x 8.5in x 12in package. The companion 2U hot-swap shelf allows for two 2,500VA inverters to be operated in a redundant 1+1 mode, or non-redundant at 5,000VA output. Multiple shelves can also be paralleled for higher-power applications.

The INV2500-HS produces a 60Hz sinusoidal output waveform with ±0.1 percent frequency stability. Total harmonic distortion is less than two percent and efficiency is 90 percent. The 48Vdc nominal input has a 42Vdc to 56Vdc range, and the unit is fully isolated from the battery. An input circuit breaker turns the inverter on and protects the battery from input faults.

The INV2500-HS is ideal for UPS backup applications, telecom sites, and fuel cell and solar power applications. The INV2500-HS hot-swap inverter module is priced at $2,115 and the companion hot-swap shelf is priced at $295, both in large quantities. Small quantity lead-time is stock to two weeks.
