January 30, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Ultralife Batteries Inc. (Newark, NY), a designer and manufacturer of batteries and power sources, introduced a new lithium-ion (Li-Ion) rechargeable battery pack, the UBBL07, which is designed for demanding portable electronics. The UBBL07 is a lower-cost alternative to other medium prismatic batteries in its size and voltage range. With its high energy density, long operating time, shelf life, and light weight, it is suitable for military radios, hand-held devices, medical equipment, unmanned vehicles and server backup power.

The UBBL07 is a suitable power solution for customers considering Li-Ion batteries for applications because of its performance, safety features and long cycle life. Average voltage for the UBBL07 is 3.7 V. Its nominal capacity is 6.1 Ah at C/5 rate at 23 C. The battery has a weight of 160 g and has an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C.

Each UBBL07 battery comes shrink-wrapped with a safety circuit and connector, complies with all transportation regulations, and is UL component recognized. The UBBL07 is available immediately.
