Ultralife Batteries Debuts New Polymer Rechargeable Batteries

June 18, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Ultralife Batteries Inc. (Newark, NY) has introduced two new models of polymer rechargeable batteries for use in Nokia phones of the 5100, 6100 and 7100 Series. Ultralife has already received large orders for the polymer phone batteries from various distributors to sell to cellular-accessory retailers nationwide, and plans to sell batteries directly to a number of national retailers, with shipments beginning in July 2000.

The slim, lightweight model UB750N battery weighs a little more than an ounce and has a rated digital talk time of up to three hours, 20 minutes, and a standby time of up to 6.5 days, depending on the specific phone model. The lightweight, high-capacity model UP2300N battery weighs less than 3 ounces and has a rated digital talk time of up to 10 hours and a standby time of up to 22 days. Both batteries will be marketed under the Ultralife Polymer brand.

"Ultralife has now achieved a new first by simultaneously launching two new polymer cellular phone replacement batteries at the same time for sale to the general retail market," said John Kavanjian, Ultralife president and CEO.

Pricing and delivery information for both of the new Ultralife polymer batteries can be obtained by contacting the Ultralife sales department through the company's website.
