Tyco Electronics Debuts New NP1500 Rectifier

August 19, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Power Systems (Dallas, TX) expanded its NP Series of 48V power systems with the launch of the NP1500 rectifier. The NP Series of interchangeable rectifiers is designed to operate as an integral part of a complete distributed power system that supports data, storage, broadband and telecommunications applications worldwide.

The NP Series rectifiers, rated at 800W, 1,200W and 1,500W, accept worldwide ac-input voltages and boast global safety agency approvals. Eight ac cords designed for the NP Series are available to support the multiple ac-input voltages used. In addition to a Class B EMC rating, the NP Series has earned NEBS Level 3 compliance.

With 7W/in³, the NP1500 rectifier measures 5.5in x 11.8in x 3.4in (138.7mm x 299.7mm x 86.4mm) and provides a 4,500W system in only 2U of rack space. The patented "zero-height," 19in, NP shelf does not add height to the power system. The NP shelf will hold three rectifiers of any power level and measures 19in x 12in x 3.5in (482.6mm x 304.8mm x 88.9mm). Customers can parallel up to four shelves.

The NP1500 is immediately available and is priced at $500 in 1,000-piece quantities.
