Tripp Lite Increases Power Ratings on OmniSmart UPS Systems

February 20, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Tripp Lite (Chicago, IL) has recently increased power ratings on several of its OmniSmart UPS Systems. These devices are designed to protect servers, workstations and POS systems with battery backup, surge suppression and voltage regulation.

The UPS systems provide line-interactive protection, and are designed to allow users to work through brown-outs uninterrupted, without draining their UPS system's battery reserves. Power rating upgrades have affected the following models: The OmniSmart 300 replaces the OmniSmart 280, the OmniSmart 500 replaces the OmniSmart 450 and the OmniSmart 700 replaces the OmniSmart 675.

All OmniSmart UPS systems feature a built-in serial port allowing automatic shutdown and management of connected computers through the network. OmniSmart models ship with Tripp Lite's PowerAlert UPS Management Software. Select models include built-in phone line protection and split-outlet design, in which three outlets feature UPS and surge protection and three outlets feature surge-only protection for peripherals. Battery replacement is done through removable panels.

"Tripp Lite's commitment to its customers is one of continuous improvement," said Bob Gombas, product manager for Tripp Lite. "These product improvements come at no cost to our customers and demonstrate our commitment to meet our customers' power-protection needs with innovative products at exceptional values."

Suggested retail prices start at $165.
