Tripp Lite Announces New SmartRack Cooling Solutions

January 10, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Tripp Lite has introduced two new cooling solutions for rack enclosures, network closets and server rooms. SmartRack™ Compact Air Conditioning Units provide supplemental cooling for electronic equipment in locations where facility air conditioning can’t reach or doesn’t provide adequate cooling to overcome environmental conditions.

Key features and benefits include: 12,000 Btu models available for 120 or 230V applications; simple installation and maintenance-free operation; installation kit included for window or dropped ceiling exhaust; 120V model plugs into a standard 5-15R outlet; self-contained – no external condenser, refrigerant piping or plumbing required; expels condensate through exhaust air – no water tank to empty; directional output duct delivers cold air exactly where it’s required; fits in confined spaces where facility air conditioning can’t reach; and eco-friendly refrigerant meets environmental standards worldwide.

"Most network and server closets weren’t originally designed for the IT department," said Craig Watkins, Tripp Lite Product Manager. "If you have network equipment jammed into a converted janitor’s closet, there’s a good chance it doesn’t have the kind of cooling you need. The SmartRack Compact Air Conditioning Unit will fix that. And it doesn’t require any maintenance or complicated installation. Anyone can set it up, turn it on and forget about it."
