Texas Instruments Inc. (TI, Dallas, TX) announced its PTVxx010 and PTVxx020 families of POLAâ„¢-compatible, non-isolated, plug-in power modules. Both families include Auto-Track® sequencing technology to simplify the task of supply-voltage sequencing in a power system by enabling the output voltage of multiple modules to accurately track each other, or any external voltage, during power-up and power-down.
The PTVxx010 dc-dc converters are available in single in-line pin (SIP) packages. The 8 A and 18 A point-of-load power modules support input voltages of 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V. The modules simplify power design in multi-voltage systems employing high-speed microprocessors, FPGAs, ASICs and TI's TMS320® digital signal processors (DSPs) in intermediate bus power architecture. The PTVxx010 family provides step-down conversion to a wide range of output voltages, at up to 8 A of output current. The output voltage can be set any value between 0.8 V to 1.8 V, 2.5 V or 3.6 V, depending upon the device's input voltage. The PTVxx020 family of 12-pin SIP modules support similar systems requiring output currents of up to 18 A.
The PTVxx010 and PTVxx020 integrated power modules are now available in volume. Pricing for the PTVxx010 products is $6.90 per 1,000 units, and $11.60 for the PTVxx020 per 1,000 units.
