Thor Industries Announces Intent to Build Fuel Cell-Powered Transit Buses

Thor Industries Inc. (Jackson Center, Ohio) plans to build the world's first commercially-viable, fuel-cell powered, zero-emissions transit buses in an exclusive alliance with International Fuel Cells Inc., a United Technologies company, and ISE Research. Plans for the initial bus are set for mid-2001."This is an extraordinary break-through in clean transit buses. "We will build our 30 inch E-Z Rider low floor transit buses powered by a fuel cell hybrid drive system to sell at a price competitive with other alternative fuels."
