Thermacore Unveils Therma-Base Heatsinks

November 25, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Thermacore International (Lancaster, PA) introduced its new Therma-Base vapor chamber heatsinks. The Therma-Base vapor chambers are plate-shaped heat pipes used as the base of a heatsink, transferring heat evenly and minimizing spreading resistance at the heat source for communications cooling applications. The Therma-Base vapor chambers and other heat pipe heatsinks are able to handle high heat loads efficiently in space-constrained applications. A single Therma-Base heatsink can cool multiple components with varying high-heat fluxes. Heat loads from 50W to 500W and heat fluxes of up to 90W per square centimeter and beyond are typical for Therma-Base vapor chamber applications.

Therma-Base vapor chamber solutions are custom-designed to meet unique packaging requirements. A wide variety of sizes and shapes can be produced in volume.
