TenderLand Increases Scope of Electric Generation Charge Plan for EVs

October 02, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

TenderLand Power Co. (Truckee, CA) is increasing the scope of its $0.08 per kilowatt-hour flat-rate electric generation charge plan for electric vehicles (EVs). Expanding the program availability to more California electric service customers, TenderLand will offer free electric generation to owners of electric vehicles, good for up to 5,000 miles of usage during each year. The free electric generation will be determined by the installation of a special meter in the EV to monitor the power required for recharging. The actual electric usage required to recharge the vehicle, up to 5,000 miles each calendar year, will be credited to the customer's January electric service bill. The program begins January 1, 2001, and applies to existing and new EVs owned by TenderLand customers, up to a maximum of two vehicles per customer.
