Taiyo Yuden Debuts LS650 Inverters for LCD Lighting

Taiyo Yuden Inc.'s (San Marcos, CA) power systems group announces the Model LS650, an ultra-compact cold-cathode fluorescent tube (CCFT) inverter for brightness control in LCD backlighting applications. Recommended for use with the NEC 6.5" TFT display, Taiyo Yuden claims that the LS650 has rigid construction and a compact, low-profile design, measuring 105mm x 25mm x 10mm.
The LS650 provides an input range of 11.4Vdc to 12.6Vdc, and a 5V input model is also available. It has a total output of 4W for two lamps. The inverter permits dimming of 20 to 100 percent.
Taiyo Yuden's Model LS650 is available now at $15 in OEM quantities. Delivery is 8 to 12 weeks ARO.
