April 26, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Taiyo Yuden USA Inc. (Schaumburg, IL) announced its new AAD-130SD, the latest addition to its line of switch-mode power supplies for data communications, telecom and other 1U-height applications. Operating at better than 0.98 power factor and 90% efficiency, the AAD-130SD offers a choice of single (high-performance) or dual outputs in eight available ranges from 3.3 V to 48 V.

Current ratings include 3 A to 32 A for the single-output (V1) configuration and 1.5 A to 16 A for the dual-output model. Dual-output (V1 and V2) configurations allow users to mix and match any combination of available outputs. Measuring 127.0 mm x 79.8 mm x 31.8 mm, the AAD-130SD allows current sharing between outputs of similar units, making the device suitable for parallel/redundant applications. The device's high-efficiency operation allows it to meet EN61000-3-2 harmonic distortion standards, in addition to CISPR 11/22 and FCC level B EMI filtering; and EN61000-4 surge-withstand specifications.

The AAD-130SD features quick prototype delivery and highly accelerated life testing to ensure compliance with design parameters and 100% out-of-the-box operation. Prices start in the $50 range for OEM quantities. Available now, delivery is stock to eight weeks ARO.
