Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC, Japan and Irvine, CA) announced it has expanded its family of SOP Advance power MOSFETs with two new 100 V devices. The SOP Advance Series of MOSFETs are suitable for a number of industrial and mobile computing applications, including dc-dc converters, switching regulators, motor drives and notebook PCs.

Developed by Toshiba Corp. (Japan), the TPCA8006-H model produces a drain current of 18 A (maximum), an excellent switching speed (fall time) of 2.0 ns (typical), low drain source on-state resistance of 67 mΩ (maximum), and a gate charge of 6.9 nC (typical). It also offers a small footprint because of its slimmer packaging.

The TPCA8007-H device delivers the same footprint and switching speed as the TPCA8006-H, but carries a low drain source on-state resistance of 47 mΩ (maximum) and a gate charge of 8.5 nC (typical). The characteristics of the TPCA8006-H make it suitable for use in high-speed, high-efficiency dc-dc converters, while the TPCA8007-H is appropriate for larger-output current dc-dc converters.

Samples of Toshiba's 100 V TPCA8006-H and TPCA8007-H SOP Advance MOSFETs are available now, priced at $0.60 and $0.70 each, respectively. Production quantities are scheduled for availability in January 2005.
