SynQor Intros New DualQor Series DC/DC Converters

February 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

SynQor (Hudson, MA) announced its new DualQor Series of dual-output voltage, industry-standard quarter-brick-sized isolated dc/dc converters, which are capable of delivering up to 40W of total output power at 3.3V and 2.5V, without the need for an attached heatsink. The converter module employs synchronous rectification and a patented topology to achieve efficiencies up to 87 percent.

The DualQor converters have a 48V nominal input (35V to 75V range) and meet input-voltage transient requirements up to 100V for 100ms. The quarter-brick-sized units can deliver up to 12A at 3.3Vout or 16A at 2.5Vout for a total of 40W of output power. The converters feature an industry-standard footprint of 1.45in x 2.3in, a low profile of 0.43in and the industry-recognized pin out configuration.

The DualQor Series of dc/dc converters is targeted toward the converging telecom and datacom markets, which require high power densities with multiple low-output voltages to power today’s next-generation communications products.

The DualQor 3.3V and 2.5V, dual-output, quarter-brick converters will begin production volume shipping in February 2002. The standard modules are priced at $104 in 1,000-unit quantities.
