Suzhou Littelfuse Presents TMOC Series Varistors

October 29, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Suzhou Littelfuse Co. Ltd. (China) announced its TMOV Series of thermally protected metal-oxide varistors that meet the UL 1449 standard for over-voltage protection. The devices incorporate a patent-pending integrated thermal-protection circuitry that will safeguard the varistor in case of overheating due to over-voltage conditions.

The varistors feature a peak surge current rating up to 10kA (6kA minimum). They also exhibit low leakage, standard lead form and spacing options, as well as high reliability and long life expectancy. The devices are suitable for TVSS products, surge-protected connectors, ac power supplies, power meters and panel-protection modules.

Specified for operation from -55 to +85 degrees C, the varistors provide rated voltages of 130Vac, 140Vac, 150Vac, 175Vac, 230Vac, 250Vac, 275Vac and 320Vac. The operating temperature ranges from –55 to +85 degrees C. The rated voltage includes 130Vac, 140Vac, 150Vac, 175Vac, 230Vac, 250Vac, 275Vac and 320Vac. The temperature coefficient is <0.01 percent per degree C. They handle isolation voltages up to 2.5kV. Insulation resistance is 1 gigaohm.
