Surge Components Inc. (Deer Park, NY) announced financial results for its third quarter and nine months of its fiscal year ending November 30, 2003. Net sales for the nine months of fiscal year 2003 increased to $8,535,530 from $8,362,575 in the nine months of fiscal year 2002, an increase of $172,955 or 2%.
Net loss available to common shareholders for the nine months of fiscal year 2003 was $647,120, or $0.07 per share, as compared with $1,465,037, or $0.16 per share, in the same period a year ago. This is reduction in loss of $817,917 or 56% during the current nine-month period as compared with the same period a year ago.
Net sales for the third quarter of fiscal year 2003 were $2,816,086 as compared to $3,000,176 for the third quarter of fiscal year 2002, a decrease of $184,090 or 6%. Net loss available to common shareholders for the thirs quarter of fiscal year 2003 was $150,057, or $0.02 per share, as compared with $289,327, or $0.03 per share, in the same quarter a year ago. This is reduction in loss of $139,270 or 48% from a year ago.
