STM Intros TS824-1.2/TS824-2.5 Voltage References

August 23, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

STMicroelectronics Inc. (STM, Geneva, Switzerland) introduced a pair of high thermal stability, micro-power, shunt-voltage references, the TS824-1.2 and TS824-2.5, which are designed for use in power supplies, battery-powered equipment, computers, instrumentation, portable equipment, data acquisition systems and power management circuits.

The TS824-1.2 and TS824-2.5 are low-power, shunt-voltage references featuring a low temperature coefficient of 50ppm/C at maximum. The parts are typically stable with capacitive loads and across the industrial operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C. The TS824-1.2 provides a 1.225V output and the TS824-2.5 provides a 2.5V output. The TS824-1.2 demands a low operating current of 45µA at 25 degrees C. The TS824-2.5 has a slightly higher operating current of 60µA at 25 degrees C. The maximum operating current is 12mA for the TS824-1.2, while it can reach 15mA for the TS824-2.5. </p.

The devices are available in different precisions of ±1 percent for TS824-1.2 and ±0.5 percent or ±1 percent for the TS824-2.5. The devices are packaged in SOT-23 packages.
