May 03, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

UPEx'01, the annual conference and exhibition of the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA, Washington, DC), will be held from September 30, 2001, through October 5, 2001. The conference, hosted by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD, Sacramento, CA), will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, CA, and will feature two days of conference sessions. In addition, there will be a distributed energy technologies workshop, a PV interconnection workshop, a California government-to-PV industry information exchange, and a day-long tour of SMUD installations and BP Solar's (Linthicum, MD) Fairfield manufacturing plant.

Key topics to be addressed at the conference include PV partnered with other distributed generation resources, experience with building-integrated PV, the use of PV for grid-support and the value of PV in creating premium power. Attendees will also explore the value of PV for peak power supply.

Before August 17, 2001, registration fees are $400 or $625 for SEPA members and non-members, respectively. After August 17, 2001, fees are $50 more for both SEPA members and non-members.
