SoftSwitching Technologies Intros UPSEnhancer

December 03, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

SoftSwitching Technologies (Madison, WI) announced the release of its UPSEnhancer (UPSE) product line. The UPSEnhancer product family is based on SoftSwitching's Dynamic Sag Corrector (DySC) product, suitable for protecting industrial processes such as semiconductor and automotive manufacturing, and information technology applications such as enterprise, data, network and telecomm centers from power sags and momentary power interruptions.

The UPSE is designed to protect single or multiple UPSs, and is cost-effective, compact and efficient with low-maintenance, long life and no battery use. The UPSE is connected between the utility grid and single or multiple UPSs. It corrects for all short-duration power sags and interruptions. In the event of a complete sustained outage, the UPS protects the load using energy stored in the battery. The UPSE provides a redundant layer of protection against 97 percent of the power events, and enhances power system reliability by at least a factor of 12.

The UPSEnhancer is available in ratings from 1kVA to 330kVA, in one- and three-phase configurations.
