IP68 Multi-Pin High Voltage Connectors Handle up to 4.5A at 5kVdc

March 11, 2019 by Scott McMahan

GES High Voltage, Inc. introduced the MCS Series of small IP68 multi-pin high voltage connectors. These significantly downsized and easy to assemble HV connectors are designed for measurement and testing applications.

According to GES, the connectors enable the rapid installation of a space-saving and highly protected solution for demanding high-voltage applications in industry and science.

Applications for the MCS Series of HV connectors include ignition devices and insulation testers. The MCS Series of high-voltage connectors are available in 2-, 4-, and 6-pin configurations for operating voltages of up to 5kVdc and current of up to 4.5A.

The insulation material used is glass fiber-reinforced PBT according to flammability class UL94 V-0, and the robust nickel-coated brass-housing complies with protection class IP68 (mated condition).

MCS Series HV connectors are equipped with gold-plated 0.7 mm contacts for AWG 26-22 (0.15mm² to 0.38mm²). Both sides of the connection can either be cable or panel-mounted.
