January 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Sirenza Microdevices Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) announced its new SXA-389 0.25W GaAs HBT amplifier, which runs on a 5V supply, offers a high-output, third-order intercept of >42dBm, and provides a high P1dB of 25dBm. It also features an on-chip active-bias control and high dc power efficiency.

The SXA-389 is designed for employment as a driver device for infrastructure equipment and as a CPE in the 400MHz to 2.5GHz cellular, ISM, WLL, PCS and W-CDMA bands. It offers a IS-95 channel power of 19dBm and W-CDMA channel power of 16.5dBm at 45dBc adjacent channel power.

The company is also offering the SXA-289 and SXT-289 amplifiers, which cover the 5MHz to 2GHz and 1.8GHz to 2.5GHz frequency bands. The amplifiers combine a 0.25W power rating with high linearity, all housed in a surface-mount SOT-89 package. The amplifiers also offer a >40dBm high-output, third-order intercept, and 24dBm output power at 1dB compression.

Pricing for the SXA-389 is $4 each in quantities of 10,000. Pricing for the SXA-289 and SXT-289 amplifiers is $3.50 each in quantities of 10,000.
