TT Electronics has introduced the HA74 series of surface-mount power inductors. The inductors combine a low profile, small footprint, and 3MHz switching capability for efficient, space-saving dc-dc converters. The HA74 series is AEC-Q200-certified and specified for operation from -55°C to +155°C and is ideal for automotive use cases including the latest generation of high-density converters and pi filters for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) controllers. The shielded inductors ensure low EMI and are highly resistant to corrosion.

With 3MHz switching capability, the inductors can be used in high-frequency converter designs and are the ideal for use with small high-frequency filter capacitors. The complete HA74 family is comprised of 10 parts covering standard inductance values from 4.7µH to 33µH and current ratings from 1.2A to 2.9A.

The maximum height of merely 2.05mm lets designers create ultra-slimline modules for applications where height is a critical consideration. with current ratings up to 2.9A and dc resistance down to 74mΩ, the HA74 series enables high power density and energy efficiency.

The device's footprint is just 5.5mm x 5.5mm. The small footprint helps minimize module size and weight, and TT's low-loss, metal-alloy core composition gives the lets the inductors operate at high efficiency and enables low heating at higher frequencies.

The company points out that semi-custom inductors conforming to individual customer specifications are also available, to special order.
