Server Technology Announces Sentry Power Manager™ Software For Cabinet PDU Management.

December 09, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Server Technology released its new Sentry Power Manager (SPM) software and POPS technology.

SPM allows the ability to manage thousands of Sentry Cabinet Power Distribution Units (PDU’s) in multiple locations, providing a central interface for conditions including power, temperature and humidity. Status and alarm notifications are in real time and can be viewed by their status. Trending of critical parameters such as temperature, humidity, in-feed load, in-feed power, syster watts/unit area, kW, kW Hr, and system total power allow the user to create custom graphs based on any one or all of these parameters.

SPM combined with the new Sentry POPS™ product provides power monitoring at the cabinet level with the ability to monitor current voltage, power(kW), apparent power, crest factor and power factor. This technology also provides the Data Center Manager kW and kw-hr information per devices, groups of devices (application), and individual PDU or cabinet.

Utilizing SPM’s exclusive "clustering" technology allows power monitoring across individual IP addresses providing kW and kw-Hr power information across multiple cabinets or the whole data center. This information can be used to calculate "green" power efficiency metrics like PUE and DCiE offered by The Green Grid. Beyond calculating efficiency metrics this technology also provides the ability to bill for power usage based on an individual outlet, device, groups of devices (application), cabinet, groups of cabinets or the whole location.

Server Technology has released two new mixed outlet switched products. The CW-24VD/VY is a 3-Phase, 208V mixed outlet product with (18) C-13’s and (6) C-19’s. It is available in 20 or 30A. The CW-24V2 is a single phase 208/230V mixed outlet product with (18) C-13’s and (6) C-19’s. It is available in 16, 20, 30 or 32A.
