Series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors

December 05, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) recently introduced the EBG/EGH Series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors that features a 150 degree C temperature rating. The EBH/EGH Series is designed to offer a range of capacitance options from 220uF to 22,000uF, with tolerances of +/-20 percent. Voltage ratings include 10V, 16V, 25V and 40V, with maximum current ratings as high as 3.9A. According to Vishay, the axial-style devices will serve in smoothing, filtering, coupling and decoupling circuits, and offer a 1500-hour useful lifetime at 150 degrees C without voltage derating. Useful lifetimes at lower temperatures are 5,000 hours at 125 degrees C, 19,000 hours at 105 degrees C and >500,000 hours at 40 degrees C. Package sizes range from 12 x 25mm to 30 x 50mm. In quantities of 100, pricing for the devices starts at $0.54 each and sample and production quantities are currently available.
