SDI To Introduce Alternative Energy Initiatives to US DOE & Canadian Govt.

November 30, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Sustainable Development International (SDI, Alberta, Canada) plans to introduce various alternative energy initiatives to the US Department of Energy, the Canadian Federal government and the Alberta Provincial government.

The US Department of Energy is proposing a $140,000,000 program to assist the US in becoming energy self-sufficient by the year 2010. The Canadian and Alberta governments have been allocated in excess of $100,000,000 for accelerated development of new technologies that would assist their governments in meeting the six percent emission reduction commitment in the Kyoto Protocol.

SDI is focusing 90 percent of its resources to pursue the commercialization of alternative energy technologies, such as solar, which would qualify for funding. The company claims that its goal is to provide a range of alternative energy solutions, and not be limited by following a single product or technology.
