Schroff Introduces Europac PRO System

March 01, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Schroff (UK) recently introduced the new Europac PRO system, which the company claims enables customers to achieve an optimum 19" subrack solution. The Europac PRO system features a modular design that allows the user to select from a wide range of depths, widths and heights. Suitable for small- and medium-production volumes, their basic construction consists of extruded aluminum horizontal rails mounted between aluminum side panels and support brackets. Three styles of side panels are available, one for lightweight applications, another for applications under high mechanical stress, and a third for applications requiring design flexibility.

The Europac PRO system features card guides that can be fitted to the horizontal rails with a spacing of 1HP. The rails themselves can be adjusted for depth at intervals of 15mm. The systems also have continuous marking of the horizontal rails coupled with a marking on the guide rail itself, and have a range of accessories that includes covers, mounting brackets, handles and shielding/gasket kits. Schroff also provides an assembly service for customers who would prefer to have the unit delivered fully assembled rather than in kit form.

All visible surfaces of the Europac PRO are anodized to give a scratch-resistant surface. This anodized layer on the front panel means that machining can take place without the need for further surface treatment. The inside face is chromated to give a conductive contact for all parts.

The dimensions of Europac PRO comply with IEC60297-3 and DIN 41494, part 5.
