Schott Applied Power Intros SAPC-165 PV Module

February 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Schott Applied Power Corp. (SAPC, Rocklin, CA) announced its new 165W multicrystalline photovoltaic (PV) module, the SAPC-165. The SAPC-165 is a high-quality, high-power and competitively priced PV module. It is UL listed and on the California Energy Commission’s list of approved modules. The high-power module has a rating of 165W and 72 5in (125mm) multi-crystalline solar cells. The SAPC-165's high efficiency keeps the module size, 62in x 32in (1575mm x 826mm), manageable for PV installers and dealers.

When the sun's rays hit the SAPC-165 PV module, energy is created. The electricity produced is generated right at the source of installation. Besides decreasing dependence on foreign energy supplies, the solar energy generated by the SAPC-165 does not create the pollution associated with burning fossil fuels. The SAPC-165, integrated into Schott Applied Power's complete solar-electric systems, uses the sun to power homes, buildings and other applications.

"Our new higher-power module with affordable pricing will help Americans diversify our nation's energy mix and increase energy security,” stated SAPC President Sam Vanderhoof.
