Schaefer Introduces New LSC Series of DC/DC Converters

August 22, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) announced its new LSC Series of 160W board-mounted dc/dc converters, which can be connected in parallel or configured in the smallest of spaces for multiple outputs at 2.2V, 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V from a 6V to 18V, 14V to 36V, 9V to 40V or 32V to 80V input.

Standing vertically, the low-profile LSC Series has a footprint of 11mm x 95mm. Standard features include short-circuit and over-voltage protection, over-temperature shutdown, zero-load operation, and remote off.

The basic versions offer voltage control (output voltage can be set to -30/+10 percent), a thermal warning alarm and synchronization pins for parallel-connecting converters. The comfort/enhanced versions add voltage-in and voltage-out fail alarms to ensure that input and output voltage remain within set lower and upper bounds at input and output, respectively. A sense input is standard with the 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 15V modules.

The LSC converters are CE-marked and UL-certified. Pricing starts from $140 each in 100 pieces. Significant OEM quantity discounts are available. Delivery is six to eight weeks ARO.
